Works in Progress

During my recent vacation I was determined to organize/clean my sewing room.  I came across a lot of fabric that I have given or will be giving away.  I had way more than I will ever have time to sew so to relieve the stress of dealing with it, I'm giving it away.  That said, I did come across a project that I decided I needed to finish.

The box had 104 completed log cabin blocks, and 14 almost finished blocks.  The strips to finish were there too.  So even though this wasn't yet in my basket of unquilted tops, I decided it was a priority as I have the perfect person to give it to if I can finish by Sunday.

And because I don't like to work on just one project at a time, I pulled this Blueberry Bali Pop out of a box, bought some coordinating fabric, and am working on a sample for Katja's.  It is almost done and as soon as I finish the binding I will get a picture and show you what it has turned into.

The sun is shining, the snow is melting and I'm having a wonderful day.  Hope you are too!

  1. Funny, I just started a bucket list quilt for me......a pineapple log cabin, over 200 paper pieced 5.5" blocks!!! It won't be done by Sunday or any Sunday soon! LOL
No melting here but that sunshine, oh my, it makes me have a wonderful day too!!!

  2. I think you will be so happy to finish your log cabin quilt , they are always in style , a favorite of mine. Can't wait to see what you are making with the Bali pop. Enjoy your sewing time .

  3. Love that Bali Pop collection. The logs look great too.

  4. At first glance I wondered how my log cabin blocks got to your house! I have some just like them : )
We enjoyed the sun today too.

  5. Love log cabin. I made quiet a few when i first started sewing. Want to make one again. I like the monochromatic blocks i see on people blogs. Got to love those bali pops. Will be watching for that finish!I want to ask you if you have longarmed an all flannel quilt. Are there any little things i should know about.

  6. I don't think I even want to know what is 'missing' from my quilt projects. I'm slowly finding out, as I try to get some organization going on. Sometimes we just have to pass stuff on. Hope you got the log cabin quilt finished.
