Maple Leaf Forever

To celebrate Canada's upcoming 150th birthday Northcott has made available a free pattern called Maple Leaf Forever.  Click here for the link.

This is my version of the pattern.  It was a bit of a marathon to complete the 160 half square units for that maple leaf border, but so worth the effort.

I kept the quilting simple so I would actually get it done!!!!

I've been busy trying to catch up with some quilting for friends.  This is a rather large quilt of Bev's that I added a little texture to.  The star where the blocks meet was a happy coincidence.

Betty's quilt from the book "Pre-cut Primer" is done and hanging on the wall at Katja's.  Great job on the piecing Betty.

Hoffman Digitals, Again!!!

Just in case you aren't into the Hoffman animal prints from the last post, here is one of their Christmas Digital prints.

The quilting is simple straight line quilting radiating out from the centre.

I had a lot of fun adding this border to the Halloween Digital print.  The quilting is ziggy lines once again, radiating out from the centre.

And a little more texture for today.  It really is all about the quilting, after all.  This delightful quilt is Bev's.   She wanted straight lines and something in the centre.  This is how I interpreted that.

Hoffman Digital Wildlife

The new Hoffman Digital Wildlife prints will be arriving in stores soon!!!!!  They are amazing.
Lucky for me, i was asked to play with a few of them ahead of release.

The Bear and the Fox are both incredible prints.  The patterns are available here on the Hoffman site. I quilted both with an all over design so that the fabric could speak for itself.

This bag is made by Margaret.  She made the modern meshwork panel at a workshop I had put on for the local Guild earlier in the year.  I love what she did with it.
