More Cotton + Steel

The first quilt I want to show you is made from the Black and White Collaborative with a little bit of Sleep Tight thrown in.

Once again the women of Cotton + Steel have come up with some adorable prints.

This quilt is made from Wonderland by Rifle Paper Co for Cotton + Steel.  The pattern is inspired by the Bread and Butterflies quilt pattern that will be on their web site when the fabric is released in January.  Going from the picture in their pamphlet I made it my way.

I am almost caught up on my Moda Be My Neighbor blocks.  The top block is made from Sweetwater's Treehouse Club.  The middle block is made from Zen Chic's Flow and the bottom block is Gina Martin's Wing and Leaf.  One more to go and then I'm up to date and waiting for Monday's release of the next block.

I can no longer say I never win anything.  I won this sweet iron in a draw at Quilt Market.  I have had my eye on one for a while, but was a little reluctant to buy it.  The company is a Canadian Company out of Toronto with an interesting history of selling Dry Cleaning equipment.  They shipped the iron to me in time to finish up the last of my samples.  I am delighted with the iron's performance.  If you are in the market for a new iron, I highly recommend this model.  It is available at Cherry Tree Quilts in Summerland or Anderson's in Kamloops.

S.S. Bluebird by Cotton+Steel

S.S. Bluebird is a collaborative collection from Cotton + Steel. It came home from Market with me and was quickly turned into this quilt.

Something for everyone! I would be hard pressed to pick a favourite.  The Racoons, Whales and letters would be in the running.  The whole collection is fabulous.  I have used the Shadow Box pattern before and thought it worked well to show off the fabrics.  The quilting is simple wavy lines as I was on a pretty tight deadline.

I managed to finish twelve quilts in eight days.  They are all salesman samples for Trendtex fabrics.  The Cotton + Steel is released in January.  The Moda will be released in the spring.

Peppie's Giveaway

I would like to introduce you to Peppie first, then we will get to the giveaway contest.

Peppie is my quilt made from Katja's upcoming 2017 quilt-along based on her Perpetual Calendar.  It is called Perpetually Hexie and is available here.  Perpetually Hexie is quite the mouthful, so I named mine "Peppie."  The picture was taken at the Moda booth at Market, with Josh Dunn helping to display the quilt.  All the fabric used was made by Moda.  Each ring is a different fabric line.  The background is assorted low volume fabric, and the back is a Moda Grunge.

Now for the contest.  There are twelve rings in the quilt.  Ten different Moda Designers' Fabrics are used for these rings.  If you zoom in on the picture you can get a better look.  The first part of the contest is to come up with the names of the ten designers.  Each comment that does will be entered to win....

One of these adorable little packages.  Moda's theme was Super Heroes.  The package includes a set of tea towels that can be made into little stuffed Super Heroes, or used as is.  For more info on these cute packages, click here.  If you check out my Instagram feed you will have a huge head start.  (Lindasquiltmania)

Each comment, whether listing the designers or not, will be entered to win fabric.  I am in full blown Sample mode using the newest releases from Market.  I will compile a few leftovers to make a couple of packages up that will be at least a metre of fabric.

The contest will be open until November 10 at midnight.  Good luck!
