My wonderful friend Sonja made me this mini quilt as a Christmas gift.
The quilt is 7 1/2" x 10". The hexagons are 1/4". Do you see the fussy cut block. Simply amazing. Thanks so much Sonja.
A few years back I made a larger version that I called Birds in Grandmother's Garden. I used 1" hexagons in mine. Sonja asked for the pattern as she wanted to make it one day. Little did I know that she would downsize it. Here is a pic of the original quilt.
I love them both! Have a great day everyone.
They're both pretty special The quilt and my Mom that is.

ReplyDeleteIncredible , so tiny and so beautiful , I love your version as well :-)
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are wonderful! I especially like the Birds in Grandmothers Garden quilt. Is there a pattern for this somewhere? I've been looking for a way to use some hexie flowers I've made into a quilt and this quilt would be perfect. Thanks for any direction you could give me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful little quilt. I love the little hexies. I have 1/4 inch papers but haven't had the nerve to try them.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing miniature quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift! When I first started to hexie I tried the 1/4" hexies. I hated it and threw them in a cupboard. Thank god I gave it another try...and I'm trying to think of what to do with the 1/4" papers in that cupboard. LOL.
