This weeks blocks are Tall Pine Tree, Temperance Tree and Tulip.
I took this picture this morning, so it is obviously close to home.
As I mentioned in my last post, I am taking a class on Photo Shop Elements. The picture above is a result of using a few things I learned this week. Below is the original picture.
I lightened the foreground, darkened the river and mountains and then cropped the picture. I'm tickled pink (it is after all run for the cure day.)
This picture is at Riverside Park here in Kamloops. I wanted to get a picture of the gardens, but when I got there I just couldn't resist the river view. The dog was just an added bonus!
Have a great day everyone.

Another Friday Giveaway
Last weeks winner of the Chez Moi fat quarters is Cal. I'm awaiting her address so I can send them off to her. Before we get to this weeks giveaway, I'll show you what I have been up to.
This is another Bali Pop quilt. It used the new Macaron Bali Pop. The pattern is All Stacked Up by Cindy McCracken. The pattern uses 50 strips and since there is only 40 strips in a bali pop, I had to add in a little extra fabric. The pattern was quick and easy to make up. Last time I showed a quilt Sylvia mentioned that she really likes to see the quilting. So this next picture is for Sylvia.
I kept the quilting simple since the fabrics are so bold. A simple heart shaped leaf in light blue thread compliments the fabrics, without taking over.
This weeks hexagon is one of my favourites. I just love the secondary pattern of the light green around the cup of coffee.
Now for the giveaway!
This week I have four fat quarters of Batiks. To enter let me know if you have ever taken an online class, and if so what it was. I am currently taking a class on using photo shop elements for quilters. So far I am loving it.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Farmer's Wife Blocks 97, 98 & 99
Waste Not, Waterwheel and W.C.T.U. decided that they needed to get out and get a little sunshine.
The weather here in Kamloops has been phenomenal. It is currently 22 C with glorious sunshine. The highs this last week have been close to 30, what more can a Postie ask for? The tomatoes are ripening on the vine and life without a kitchen (we are in the middle of renos) is wonderful.
Now, back to the blocks. Obviously they are close to Kamloops and at a lake. Have you figured out where?
They are at Lac le Jeune. A great spot for a picnic lunch or if you have more time, a wonderful spot to go camping. I here the fishing is good, not that Doug and Andrew caught anything while we were there! Better luck next time.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Coquette by Chez Moi as a Giveaway!
Last week I asked you to comment on who your favourite fabric designer was. I received a lot of wonderful comments, with the winning comment being lucky number 13, Linda. You should have received an email by now asking for your address, so I can ship your prize off to you.
Now, for this weeks giveaway. First up I have to show you a couple of quilts made from Coquette by Chez Moi.
This quilt I made as a little girl quilt. The colours are so bright and fun, and when you put them next to white, they just pop!
This next quilt was made by Noeline, and is for her spare bedroom. The pattern is from one of the Snibbles books. She is going to decorate the room around this quilt. I can't wait to see it done.
For this weeks giveaway I have six fat quarters of Coquette by Chez Moi. Leave me a comment as to what project you think this fabric would be perfect for.
And of course, I can't let the week go by without showing you my hexagon!
Have a wonderful weekend.

Another challenge
A wonderful friend of mine invited me to join in on a challenge that involves 4 1/2" finished blocks. Now for those of you that whine about the 6" farmer's wife blocks, check these babies out. They are a lot of fun and yes, a little challenging to complete. I have to make four a month, so I think I can keep up.
If you check out last Fridays's post you will see that my giveaway is some Faded Memories fabric. From the same line I made an apron from this tutorial. It is a great pattern because the two side flaps hang free so that you have something to wipe your hands on. A must when I'm cooking.
Now doesn't this fabric look delicious. I received it in the mail today from Fabricworm. It was a giveaway from Laura who blogs here. Laura has a great sense of humour and I love following her blog.
Speaking of giveaways, a great blog to follow is The One Stop Giveaway Shop. You will find an assortment of giveaways listed and you never know, you just might win something!
Have a great day!

Farmer's Wife blocks 69 & 70
Okay, I'm sure I can stump most of you with this weeks picture. A hint, it's within 10 km of my house!
Practical Orchard and Prairie Queen went for a little walk with my daughter and I.
We are somewhere in Kamloops, I'll give you that much.
My blocks are sitting on a big eye.....
That is carved into a clay bank, along with a few other images.
This is the view looking across the South Thompson River.
We are on the Jack Gregson Trail that runs along the river. Thanks to the Wednesday Morning Walkers who told me about this trail, and explained to me how to get there. LOL. Thanks to Leslie for going with me, and only giving out a little scream when a snake crossed our path.
Have a great week everyone!

Friday Giveaway
Last Fridays winner of the batik fat quarters is Carol, who by the way, is also a knitter. Sorry if you didn't win, maybe you will have better luck this week! Before we get to the giveaway, I want to share with you a quilt I was working on this week.
This is a sweet sampler that a friend of mine pieced, and asked me to quilt. You all know by know how in love I am with Angela Walters quilt style, so just in case you haven't seen enough, here are a few more quilting close ups.
The last block is three dimensional. Just too adorable. I wanted to make it look like the blocks and cornerstones were floating on a sea of white. It is going to be really hard to give this one back to it's owner.
And of course, I can't forget to show you this weeks hexagon.
I just could not resist this dinosaur batik for the centre. Check out Carla's blog for the same hexagon made with the most adorable bird fabric!
Now for the giveaway. This week I have eight fat quarters of Moda fabric. It is an older line by three sisters called Faded Memories. To enter for the draw next friday, leave me a comment telling me who your favourite fabric designer is.
