"I've Got Nothin In My Brain"

As I write this I'm listening to Taylor Swift singing "I've Got Nothin In My Brain."  Lol!  I think every woman has a brain overflowing with creativity.  Sometimes it's hard to shut off!

Anyways, today I want to share a few finishes.  First up, A Jelly Roll Race quilt liberated from my unfinished top basket.

I was motivated to finish this top so that it can be given to the local "Elizabeth Fry Society" for a transition home they are about to open.  More about that soon.

I had to quilt daisies, it just made sense!

I finished up a couple of knitting projects.  The baby hats are the same wool and pattern, with the only difference being moss stitch on one, and two by two ribbing on the other.  The socks were a busy hands project from a little mini holiday a couple of weeks ago.  I'm quite happy with how they turned out.

The favourite part of my week was a Monday night "chat" with the Sagebrush Quilters' Guild. Thanks to Sandy for the following pics.

Thanks for all the positive feedback from the wonderful women of the Guild!

And the least favourite part of my week…….

Mechanic work on my Long Arm Machine.  All those little tools for little screws.  Uggg!  Glasses definitely needed.  I changed out my Check Spring as it wasn't working quite right.  Within five minutes, my off/on switch went.  I no longer panic when this happens!  I go through a few each year.  The custom work (In The Ditch) really stressed the part.  Time to order a few more.

I hope you had a fabulous week, and found a little time to let the creativity leak out!

Another Brava Bag

I just couldn't help myself.  I love my Cotton + Steel Brava bag so much, that I had to make another  one from slightly different fabric.

I consider this bag a little more sedate!  The wonderful greys and browns in this bag will make it so versatile.

My iPad will travel in the back pocket.  The button is made by 2goodclaymates.  These delectable buttons are made in Chase and are sold at Katja's.

Jelly Turnover Quilt

I love cruising through the Moda Bake Shop for inspiration.  Todays quilt was made from the Jelly Turnover pattern available here.  I started with a fat eighth package of Kansas Troubles' fabric.

As always I adapted the pattern so that I used my Easy Angle Ruler to make the half squares.

The piecing went fairly quickly!

I tried to keep the quilting gender neutral.  It is so hard to come up with masculine quilts.  Kansas Troubles is my go to fabric for a man quilt!

Postie Charity Quilts

My Postie quilting group decided we needed to make a few quilts for local charities.  Three of us started with the Same Jelly Roll of Batiks.  This is what we come up with.

Terry's Turtle quilt will make a child very happy!

Joanne used one of her favourite patterns to whip this up in a couple of hours,

I played with this my strips and came up with this quilt.  It turned out a little smaller than I wanted, so a border was added.

I reached into my basket of unfinished tops and pulled these two out to finish.  The top is a Winding Ways quilt.  The kit came out about ten years ago and all the pieces were laser cut.   The second quilt is  a scrappy nine patch snowball quilt that is at least 15 years old.  It really needed to be finished!!!!!  There was one more quilt made by "N" that I missed getting a picture of.  Sorry.  The pile of quilts have been delivered to Sagebrush Quilters' Guild and will be given to charities they support.
