Over The Rainbow Batiks Project and Giveaway!

I have been playing with Over The Rainbow Batiks again.  The pattern "Garden Trio" has directions for three different table runners.

This is the first table runner and a close up of the quilting.  I decided to do a little echo quilting around the flowers and then some straight lines as planks on the house.

The second table runner has these five fun flowers.  I quilted with the curvy pattern from Angela Walters' book "Free-Motion Quilting."

This is number three which is a fun colour play project.  I quilted with a simple loopy meander so that the fabrics would be the main focus on this one.

Now I'm sure you are all anxious to see what I'm giving away this Friday.

I had a couple of charm packs left over so I decided I would give away a light and a dark set of Over The Rainbow Batiks to one lucky winner!  To enter leave me a comment letting me know which of the three table runners is your favourite.  I will draw one name next Friday and post the winner at the bottom of next Friday's giveaway.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Little Strip Therapy

I decided I needed a little strip therapy so.....

I used the "Strip Therapy 9" book, a Parfait Bali Pop and a couple of metres of background fabric.  The Bali Pop is one of the new assortment from Hoffman that will be in a quilt store near you in October.  I was lucky enough to get an advanced sample.  Yahoo!

This is where I'm at tonight.  Just a little more sewing to go and I'll be ready to quilt.  This is my type of therapy!

Just in case you haven't had enough batiks for one post, here is this weeks Hexagon.

Stay tuned for my giveaway tomorrow, I think it just might be batik.

Farmer's Wife Blocks 103, 104 &105

This week Whirlwind, Wild Geese and Wild Goose Chase are once more on an adventure in Manitoba.

If you are from Manitoba, this next few pictures might help you much identify where they are.

Well, maybe I'll give you a bigger hint.

The blocks are vacationing at Gimli.  A delightful little town with a large marina.  The area has a rich history of fishing and farming.  As well, there is a wonderful little quilt shop just up from the marina. Both Randy and Doug thought they were brilliant taking us on Sunday, thinking they wouldn't have to wait outside any shops.  Turns out both the shops at Winnipeg Beach and Gimli are open on Sundays, so Terry and I had a great time checking them out.

If you haven't yet checked out the blog hop please go to my previous post and click on the link. There are a lot of wonderful prizes to win!

Have a great week everyone!

My Whimsical Quilt Garden 2

Once again I was lucky enough to be able to quilt a "My Whimsical Quilt Garden."  When I asked Geraldine if I could post pictures of her quilt she humbly asked why I would want to, there are so many of them out there.  Well, not like Geraldines's!

The fabrics are bright and whimsical, so perfect for this quilt.

The border polka dots are just to much fun to quilt around.  As with all Geraldine's quilts, it will be given to some very lucky relative.

And of course, since it is Thursday, here is this weeks hexagon.

Farmer's Wife Blocks 65 & 66

Peaceful Hours and Periwinkle had a grand holiday!

Sometimes it is hard to find something for a backdrop for the blocks, so........

I used a back.  Doug's back to be exact!  Doug, Randy and Terry are enjoying a wonderful sunny day at......

Clear Lake.  This beautiful beach is located in Riding Mountain National Park.  There is a quaint little town within the park that has a variety of shops to suit every tourist.  My personal favourite was an ice cream shop.  I think I might of visited there more than once.

In the Park Info Centre this quilt was hanging and has been since 1985.  It was made by a group of local quilters to commemorate 100 years of National Parks.

We just could not get enough of beaches so we visited Grand Beach, just north of Winnipeg.  It is know for it's white sand and shallow warm water.

Have you been to a beach yet this summer?
