We made it!!!!! The last of our 20 blocks for the Quilt Along. Are you up to date? LOL.
This is my version of a modified log cabin block.
Start with a 2 1/2" square. From 1 1/2" wide scraps you will need one 2 1/2" strip, two 3 1/2" strips, two 4 1/2" strips, two 5 1/2" strips and one 6 1/2" strip. This is the amount needed for each quarter of the block. I know some of you are down to your last few scraps, so I thought this was a great way to use up those last little bits. I did use a contrasting light colour for the last two strips so that there was a secondary design within the block.
Sew the strips in the order shown, carrying on till all are added. Make three more 6 1/2" blocks.
Plan your lay out and sew together.
This would be a really fun block to play with in a quilt.
Now for the last prize for the quilt along.
An autographed copy of "New York Beauty Diversified." I am going to draw for this on February 15th so that everyone has a chance to get their blocks done, and hopefully a few finished tops will be posted. I hope to have my three tops finished shortly and will post pics to give you a few ideas for settings.
And there you go! Great job on the quilt along Linda. Congrats to all you ladies who made your blocks

Hoping to get my last block done SOON... If I use my "sad" blocks I will have thirty blocks. So I just might do that! Look forward to getting this last block done. Thanks Linda for all of your hard work.
