Time for Knitting

Knitting has been part of my life, long before I learned how to quilt.  My Grandma Bailey had taught me how as a little girl, and I have dabbled in it all my life.  I knit numerous sweaters for my kids and nieces and nephews.
With the new yarns that are available, it is such an indulgence to pick up a luxurious yarn at my favourite little shop Knit 2 Yarns.  Last week was knit in public day, and I did stop by Carla's shop and pick up a little something for myself.

This is a Shawl I just gave away, knit from yarn I had picked up at Carla's last year.  Just like quilt fabric, sometimes the yarn has to age a little before it is used.  The pattern is from the book Sock-Yarn Shawls by Jen Lucas.
I have been knitting up a storm lately with an upcoming new addition to the family, so I'm sure I'll be posting more projects soon.

The Northcott blocks are coming along.  This is the block from Along Came Quilting in Calgary. The pieces all came in the kit laser cut and ready to fuse in place.  What a bonus.  It took longer to stitch down than to actually fuse.  Thanks to Hailey for picking this one up for me.

Continuing on with the Christmas theme from last week, I am currently quilting a darling little appliqué quilt for Iva.  As always, her hand work if exquisite.

Linking up with Finish it up Friday!
