Another Friday Giveaway

Last weeks winner of the Chez Moi fat quarters is Cal.  I'm awaiting her address so I can send them off to her.  Before we get to this weeks giveaway, I'll show you what I have been up to.

This is another Bali Pop quilt.  It used the new Macaron Bali Pop.  The pattern is All Stacked Up by Cindy McCracken.  The pattern uses 50 strips and since there is only 40 strips in a bali pop, I had to add in a little extra fabric.  The pattern was quick and easy to make up.  Last time I showed a quilt Sylvia mentioned that she really likes to see the quilting.  So this next picture is for Sylvia.

I kept the quilting simple since the fabrics are so bold.  A simple heart shaped leaf in light blue thread compliments the fabrics, without taking over.

This weeks hexagon is one of my favourites.  I just love the secondary pattern of the light green around the cup of coffee.

Now for the giveaway!

This week I have four fat quarters of Batiks.   To enter let me know if you have ever taken an online class, and if so what it was.  I am currently taking a class on using photo shop elements for quilters.  So far I am loving it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. I've never taken an online class before. The teacher of the first 'real' quilt class I took disappointed me so much, that I've seldom taken a class since. Love that bali pop quilt you made.

  8. I have taken several, including the Photoshop course that (I think) you are taking right now. If it is the same one, I loved it - easy to understand and I learned a LOT! I'm enrolled right now in a Craftsy course on free motion quilting.

  9. Yeah! Thank you Linda!

I have signed up for a craftsy sewing class, but have not yet really taken it, as my sewing machine is currently packed up. But soon I will start it (It is the Sassy Librarian Blouse).

  11. I am taking online classes from Craftsy. I am currently working on the Stupendous Stitching class. I have also signed up for the Stitch and Slash course. I love craftsy because you can watch the class any time. It is great when I was sick and couldn't go anywhere. It kept me entertained and I didn't go stir crazy. Your quilt is absolutely gorgous. I am going to look up the pattern tonight.

  18. I have never taken an online class, I do not think I have the aptitude to make sure I actually do the work, I am a great procrastinator, give me a deadline though and I will get it done.

  29. Lovely quilt! I've been tempted to take some online classes but it seems that every class = one more UFO.

  30. I took an online/correspondence course in medical coding and billing, but decided before I finished it that it was the wrong career for me. I did learn a lot about anatomy and medical terminology, however, so it wasn't a complete waste of time and money.

I've never taken any quilting classes -- online or otherwise. Since most of what's out there is aimed at machine piecers and I do everything by hand, I don't think that I'd get much out of a class.

  31. I took a tea dyeing class on-line. I am not sure I would do it again as it was hard having to wait for answers to questions. Also, one the parts I enjoy the most about classes is interacting with other quilters and seeing how everyone else interpreted the class project.

  32. I took a class from Craftsy on machine quilting. I've also taken a couple of college courses online, and plan to continue that one day (got interrupted on my way to a bachelor's degree in early childhood education by the addition of a new baby :) but I'll get back to it someday.
