A Quilt for Me!

Finally, I have the quilt I made for myself, on my bed.  A little over a year ago we bought a kingsize bed so I started making a kingsize quilt.  Since it was for me, there was no rush. Time gets away and the next thing you know it's been a year.  I gave myself a kick in the pants, and finished it up.

Sylvia had made a similar quilt a while back.  I fell in love with the pattern and had to use it for a quilt for myself.  The pillow shams were a little outside my comfort range, but I persevered and now I love the effect.  A special thanks to Noeline who gave my a bali pop and fat quarter pack of beautiful batiks that were the starting point for this quilt.

And of course I can't let a week go by without posting a picture of this weeks Hexagon.

I had previously made this hexagon from a pattern I drafted myself.  When Katja included it as this weeks block, I just had to make another.
