A Little Cotton + Steel

The latest Cotton + Steel fabrics are hitting the shelves.

I was in a rush for my pictures, so this is what you get!  This is Managerie by Rifle Paper Co. The pattern is Gridwork by Running Doe Quilts for Villa Rosa Designs.  A great pattern that works up really quick.

Magic Forest by Sarah Watts is the next line.  Once again it is a Villa Rosa pattern called River Queen.  A little more attention was needed in the cutting to make sure all the horses are upright.

This line is Lagoon by Rashida Coleman-Hale.  The pattern was featured in the artwork from Spring Market, and will eventually by on the web page.  I didn't have access to the pattern, so I drafted it up on EQ and made it up.  Since then I have figured out a much easier way to make it, but more about that this fall.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Here We Go Again

Once again the wildfires in BC are dominating all our thoughts.  The weather seams to be cooperating a little today so lets all hope that the evacuees can safely return to their homes soon!

The Quilt Store in Newmarket Ontario produced this great Northcott block.  A friend was attending Quilt Canada and snapped up the kit for me.  Every Canadian Quilt needs a hockey player!

The binding went on this little nine patch quilt today.  The main fabric is a Hoffman digital print.  Batiks make up the rest of the quilt.

I did manage to get a little quilting done for friends this week.  Fran left me lots of room to play on her Blue and Yellow floral quilt.

Katja is kitting this quilt up and asked me to quilt it for her.  I played with a new to me type of texture.  A dark Grey thread was the only colour that I had that worked on this one.

Have a great day and stay safe out there!

POOF! A biscuit quilt

The new name for biscuit quilts is a "Poof" quilt.

Leslie asked if she could come over and make one for a friend.  Of course I agreed and provided a little Me and My Sister fabric to complete the project.  After a couple of great afternoons together, the quilt was finished and on it's way to it's new owner.

Leo will use this as a floor rug for a bit.  What a little cutie!

Summer has finally arrived in Kamloops with 40 degree weather.  I won't complain since we have been waiting so long for it to happen.

Last night Doug and I took in a ball game under the lights.  The local KIBT tournament  is on. The seats are warm and the beer is cold.

I am working on a little project of my own.  I try to remember to take a picture of the upper corner, so that I can refer to it when I reach the bottom of the quilt and hopefully have the four corners match.  It's fun to take a little time to make a quilt just because.
